🛠️ Installation Tips

• Marine-Grade Sealing: When passing the wiring harness into the hull through the handlebar, ensure the rubber grommet is seated perfectly. Apply a small bead of marine-grade RTV silicone around the wire entry point to prevent water from entering the hull and damaging other electrical components.

• The Dielectric Rule: Saltwater is highly conductive and corrosive. Apply a generous amount of dielectric grease to all pins in the multi-pin connector before plugging it into the main harness. This prevents the "green crust" oxidation that causes starting failures.

• Post-Lanyard Friction: After installation, check the tension on the kill switch post. The tether clip should pull away with firm pressure but should not "wiggle" loosely. A loose clip can cause the engine to cut out randomly while jumping waves.

• Cable Slack: Leave a small "service loop" of slack in the wiring harness near the handlebars. If the harness is zip-tied too tightly, the internal wires can fray or pull out of the switch box when the handlebars are turned to full lock.

• Emergency Test: Before your first launch, start the ski on the trailer (for no more than 15 seconds) and pull the lanyard to confirm it kills the engine instantly. Then, attempt to start it without the lanyard; it should not crank.

🔍 Troubleshooting Guide

Issue	Possible Cause	Solution
Engine Won't Crank	Lanyard not seated or Start button corrosion.	Ensure the tether clip is fully engaged. If you hear no "click" from the hull when pressing Start, the switch is likely open-circuited.
Engine Won't Stop	Internal contact bridge from salt buildup.	This is a major safety hazard. If the Stop button fails to kill the engine, internal corrosion has likely fused the contacts. Replace the unit immediately.
Random Cutting Out	Weak tether spring or loose clip.	If the ski dies during heavy chop or jumps, the safety switch spring is likely too weak to hold the clip against the vibration. This new unit restores the necessary spring tension.
"Clicking" but No Start	Switch is working; Battery or Solenoid issue.	If you hear the starter relay clicking in the hull when you press Start, your switch is fine. Check your battery voltage or the starter solenoid/relay instead.
Sticky Buttons	Salt crystal accumulation.	After every ride, rinse the switch housing with fresh water. If the buttons already feel "crunchy," the seals have failed, and the unit needs to be replaced.
